The four patterns, in short
- The habit loop. A cue such as a time of day or a phone in your hand triggers the routine without a real decision.
- Boredom. You want an event and a bit of anticipation more than the food.
- Emotional comfort. Stress, tiredness or loneliness make food feel like relief.
- Real hunger. Your body needs fuel, often because dinner was light or early.
How to use your result
Most people are a mix. Treat the result as a starting point, try the first tip for a week and use the craving journal to see whether your pattern changes. This quiz is a habit tool, not a diagnosis. If food feels out of control or tied to distress, speak to a doctor or counsellor.
